Our Story

La Modelo Colecciones (The Model Collections) was founded October 2020 in a baggy security guard uniform yelling "10-2" in a walkie while watching over security cameras in SSM Health STL with a prayer for a better life. "I like to look back at the job as a blessing in disguise because it was pretty chill. I wasn't old enough to patrol, so I sat in a room my entire shift hardly working and watching Youtube when the other two guards made their rounds. Until one day I couldn't do it anymore.. the job, myself and the way my life felt so stagnant but I knew it couldn't be another job-hop because I was only going to feel these same emotions but on a different clock" stated the CEO of LMC.  We started off with the name MODEL because here at La Modelo Colecciones you are the model regardless of what society, social media or your insecurities say, you will forever be top priority here. Model itself was too cliche, we gave it a twist and spelled it in spanish, immediately following up with logo sketches that we didn't finalize until 2023. "My name means life in spanish and being sang "Livin La Vida Loca" by your drivers education teacher every morning kind of grows on you, in other words I'm obsessed with my name meaning life!" she giggled as she shared. November 2020 was the official launch of La Modelo Colecciones when we decided to continue our journey in the beauty industry after retiring our faux mink lash strip business "DiamondMinks" rebranded to "ZaZa Minks" that was shared with the CEO of Skeli The Brand. The plan for La Modelo Colecciones was to make custom lash extension strips until we were able to fund its full potential, which we did for a year with little to no sells but we did pick up a skill, lash artistry. "Becoming a lash technician was not on my to do list for 2021 it was truly shoved in my arms by God because on him he was sick of me *laughing* it took me a lost and the ultimatum to drop out of college or be broke but instead of going back to filling out job applications I decided to bet on myself and pursue being a lash technician" she stated contently. That's when LMC Extended, our service brand was birthed and the rest is the future.
